Perceptions of an Entrepreneur

Today at lunchtime whilst taking a break I caught the last few minutes of a children’s programme on a business channel on Sky TV. Young people were very inspiring as they discussed individual experiences of how they came up with a business idea, developed their ideas, and put a plan of action into place that generated an income.

One of the boys created a business plan, and set about testing ingredients to produce healthy dog biscuits. The biscuits consisted of ingredients such as garlic and rosemary of which has healing properties acting as a preventative measure for bad breath. Dogs like garlic, he asserted. How ingenious, something as simple as dog biscuits which can also be consumed by dog owners. He consumed the biscuits to determine the likability factor simply because they are made from ordinary foodstuffs that we use in everyday cooking.

One girl set out to raise funds for a charity by researching recipes in order to create a recipe book. She was amazed that the book sold around 100,000 copies, far exceeding her expectations. She intends to continue selling the book on a larger scale.

Notwithstanding the fact that you may have to start out with a small idea, it is those ideas that often generate large sums of money. It just goes to show that anyone with confidence, willpower and a positive mental attitude can achieve regardless of age.
